However, there are a few people who I worked with directly, so I'd like to single them out for praise. I'll begin with the book's two Executive Editors—Angie Wethington and Chris Will—both of whom are great fun to work with, but only one of which is good-looking (sorry Chris!). I worked most closely with Nick Goetz, the Development Editor, and he was the source of tons of large and small improvements to the text. Thanks, Nick: you made this a better book. Copy Editor Linda Seifert had the unenviable task of cleaning up my shoddy grammar and recalcitrant spelling (is it calvary or cavalry?), so she gets extra thanks in lieu of danger pay. Technical Editor Jim Cooper's job was to try out all my steps to make sure that what I say will happen really does happen. So if there's anything wrong in the book, blame him (I'm kidding, Jim!). Project Editor Tom Stevens did yeoman work pulling the whole book together and shepherding it through the production process. That's no small feat and I appreciate all your hard work.
